Here in Texas we are proud of our Texas-born and bred businesses, and we love our grocery store. Yes, our grocery store. H.E.B grocery is beloved by all Texans. B-E-L-O-V-E-D.
And now, 113 years later, that little grocery store on the corner is THE LARGEST PRIVATE EMPLOYER IN THE UNITED STATES.
Employing 90,000 people in Texas and another 10,000 in Mexico.

Basically, when the chips are down, don’t mess with mama. Mama Tried. And mama did it.
Also, did we mention that this grocery store over and over again amazes us with their charitable efforts? During Hurricane Harvey the never closed … store managers slept in the stores, camped out in the parking lots, and vowed that they would SERVE the people of Texas when they needed it most.
They put up pop-up tents in parking lots, they drove 18-wheelers through treacherous roads, and so much more…all to take care of Texas.
When FEMA couldn’t deliver water to Beaumont when they had lost their water system and were surrounded by flood waters, H-E-B did.
Because they decided a long time ago, that if they took care of their customers, their customers would take care of them.
