dang y’all.

i mean DANGGGGGGGGGGGG.

who watched wednesday night’s CMA’s? and who else is STILL speechless over chris stapleton & justin timberlake’s performance?

all i got is… dang.

it was glorious. and epic. and beautiful. and spiritual.

it was GRITTY. it was THE BLUES. and COUNTRY. and oh my gosh, praise the SOUTHERN STARS, hallelujah…it was AMAZING.

y’all. THE GRIT. THE SOUL.

those boys took us to church wednesday night. to the church of country music. and i, for one, i’m a believer.

and most of all, it was inspiring. it reminded all of us of why we love music so much. why we all began loving it in the first place. it’s because performances like that get INSIDE of you. they lift you up. they MOVE you. the INSPIRE you.

because the artists are moved. and the artists have PASSION. and because, like that night, they are better…TOGETHER.

as really, we ALL are. we are all better…TOGETHER. that’s always been one of the solid truths behind junk gypsy…that, as a family, we are better when we work together. the whole is greater than the sum of our parts (thanks aristotle for coining that little nugget o’ wisdom).

it’s really how the whole world is. or rather, how it should be. instead of working AGAINST each other, we work TOGETHER. we lift each other up.

just as JT and chris lifted up not only the entire audience in front of them, but somehow, the magic of their performance came through our televisions and lifted us up too. which is a rare and beautiful thing.

here it is in case you missed it…and if you didn’t, you really and truly can’t watch this too many times…it’s like soul-food…
